Research on night-life and new models : SODAA
Lesson from SODAA a community-run music and arts venue project that has gone on hiatus
I participated in the Sonic Intimacies Weekender organized by Metro54 and Kanaal40 in Amsterdam in a talk Black Autonomy: when and how? Alongside Mathys Rennela. We discussed the challenge for black-owned venues in nightlife (the rare ones that exist) and how we can move forward within our specific context within the Netherlands, France the U.K..etc.I’ve been researching those questions since 2021 and I’ve been looking into the development of alternative space with a big attention since then. This piece is part of a series around new models within night life.
